BELLA TOSCANA: Archivio Diaristico Nazionale Foundation

The Archivio Diaristico Nazionale Foundation was born in 1984 in Pieve Santo Stefano, 

a little village in Tuscany which was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War, from an idea by the writer and journalist Saverio Tutino. 

There are a total of 7000 documents including memoirs, diaries, letters and autobiographies. While travelling for Bella Toscana, we had the opportunity to spend time in the archive, finding our way through many interesting diaries. This video is our way to say thank you, and to show the archive to the rest of the world.

Sant'Anna di Stazzema, per non dimenticare

..."going towards my roots", 

I went few days ago to S.Anna di Stazzema. 

Tuscany was in the World War II 

one of the main bases of Partisans, and so universal symble of  resistance. 

Sant'Anna di Stazzema massacre was a Nazi German atrocity 

in the village of Sant'Anna di Stazzema, Italy, 

in the course of an operation 

against the Italian resistance movement in 1944. 

You can still breath it, there.

How beautiful is 

when culture is cool. 

The Italian Diaries and Memories Archive 

is surviving because of his fans' donations. 

The clever idea 

of the fundraiser Loretta Veri 

is called SALVAMEMORIA 

SAVE THE MEMORY, 

and it jokes with the double meaning 

of 

1)let the Archive survive (and so saving it) with a minimun donation of 20 euro 

2)SAVING your virtual diary in the USB that you receive from them.  

/by the way: how cool is it??? my fave usb at the moment/

I like so much this idea of saving your memory 

and saving the collective memory 

at the same time...

"Antonio e Rosa Sbirziola.

Nel 1979 noi abbiamo

visitato un piccolo Paese

di Campagna di nome

Callala Beach.

é un piccolo Paese con

poco case costruite con

una bella spiaggia con

la sabbia Bianca con una

lunghezza di undici miglia

lunghe.Il mare è formato

come un piccolo golfo che 

non lo so quanto è grande

che chiama come la forma

della lettera del affabeto  O.

Io con Rosa non sappiamo

nuotare, che la spiaggia

che noi ci possiamo

divertire a farci il bagno.

Da quel giorno noi

siamo rimasti innamorati

da questo piccolo Paese.I miei

figli Luigi Mariella

e Marcello, ogni anno

vogliono visitare

Callala Beach.

Dopo 20 anni abbiamo

avuto la fortuna di

comprare la casa che

noi abbiamo desiderata

che una casa grande di

300 m2.

Alla fine del 2009 noi

abbiamo avuto l'onore di

avere a casa nostra una

bella ragazza

di nome Alessia Clusini

che fa onore che la

abbiamo avuta a casa nostra
