100 Flavours of Anghiari, Tuscany

Anghiari is a wonderful,
medieval town in Tuscany and,
until the 4th of November,
hosts 'I Centogusti dell'Appennino'
(100 Flavours of the Appennino Mountains).
is a market/exhibition
dedicated to agritusmos and enogastronomy,
showing the excellence of food which comes from agriculture.

Here are some recent photos of Anghiari,
taken by Samuel Webster

The story of Il Fontanaro Organic Farmhouse & Alina Pinelli

Once upon a time,
there was a clever girl, Alina Pinelli, working in communication just like me.
She quit it,
to develop her family's project,
ending up in the "glocal" philosphy.
Read the story of Alina below,
and watch the video of
that we made for Bella Toscana

Alina says, "We bought a ruin from the 18 century more than 30 years ago, with about 50 acres of land, and gradually restored it into a country home for our family. We started planting olive trees until we reached the present number of 2000. Now, we produce our own extra virgin organic olive oil, honey and saffron. We have also expanded and developed the property, transforming it into a small tourist rural resort accommodating up to 18 guests with very high comfort and great personal care for our guests, since they are like friends for us, not just customers. We like to share with our guests our love for local, genuine food matched with great wines from our cellar (approximately 2500 bottles from all over Italy and the world), organizing cooking classes, and wine and oil tasting. We also love to transfer our passion and interest for the country life to our guests and we suggest and organize visits to many artistic and cultural destinations in the surrounding Umbrian and Tuscan towns."

September in Tuscany

September in Tuscany is just fantastic...
fairs, "sagre", festivals, history and culture
which end up in heaps of wine and food.
Just in and around Arezzo,
in the first 2 weeks,
you will find
Palio dei Lumi in Pieve Santo Stefano.

Watch the video that we made
for Bella Toscana about the start of
Palio dei Lumi.

People and stories in Florence

We started Bella Toscana in Florence
with the people

and their stories
There is our favourite guy in the historical San Lorenzo food market.
then there is Luca, who gives new life to lost soul furniture in San Frediano
Roberto, who offered us a coffee, a real one, while telling us the secrets of the market.
I want to point out that not one of them had time to stop and pose,
but they had no problem sharing their stories with us.

Il Fontanaro organic farm house for #BellaToscana

Bella Toscana is arriving in Tuscany.
We are just on the border
between Tuscany and Umbria
a real
Heaven on Earth.
With Alina and Lucia,
the owners,
you'll get the best of a
real organic farm house lifestyle.
This video is about our first night in Fontanaro:
making pizza,
celebrating with Champagne,
and ... yes, being a bellydancer.

Bella Toscana, the B side of a postcard

Twitter Samuel WebsterBella #bellatoscana

dove potete vedere il suo favoloso lavoro/portfolio.
Un grazie speciale a tutte le persone che hanno già creduto in questo progetto, e allo sponsor Walks of Italy, che offre meravigliosi tour in tutto il Paese.

What is Bella going to do next?
I'm finally answering the question of friends/fans around me, as I've been working last few months 24/7 in Milano, what am I going to do for holidays?
Well, I'm going to join Samuel Webster's project "Bella Toscana"
which is a photographic and blogging trip in and around Tuscany,
with the aim of showing you which is the real life here,
the sort of B SIDE OF A POSTCARD
touching all the aspects:
la Bella Vita, people, food, wine, fashion, handmade, music, art etc.

Bella SNOW

...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

after 2 years of summer,
and few more of no snow anyway,
I feel like I'm in a movie.
I kinda like winter,
when you've got a RIFUGIO = refuge.
Mine is called CASA LAURONE REFUGE:
There are always warm vibes, wine, food, funny people.

P.S. all photos by Laurone, check out more on her Flickr account

Two Italian Boys : STYLISH VINO

Totally love when food/wine meet style.
You know.
Running every week a stall in the most trendy
Organic Food Market in Sydney is something I guess...
Anyway, check out this new project:
both Australian, Italian origins
traslating in such stylish way
and highly innovative techniques
the rich tradition of their culture.

Loving the website as well
because it's BOLD
Italian BUT NOT BULLSHIT
it's "Vino BUT NOT PRETENTIOUS"...
well, I can't wait the time to taste it, then!

...d'you understand what I mean?
